Mary H. Holmes' Obituary
Mary Helen Holmes, 90, died Feb. 19, 2008, at Desert Palace Assisted Living, Chandler, Ariz.
She was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Chase, the daughter of Roland Thomas and Bessie Jane Haxton McGuire. A resident of Arizona since 1971, moving from Hutchinson, she was a seamstress for Lillie Rubin and Sakowitz, both of Arizona.
She was a former member of the First Christian Church.
On Aug. 14, 1937, she married William Warren Holmes in Hutchinson. He died March 19, 1986.
Survivors include: a son, Thomas, Tempe, Ariz.; a daughter, Barbara Simpson, Framingham, Mass.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Max Holmes.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Melvin Walton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Memorials may be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in care of the mortuary.
