WICHITA – Mary Irene Miner, 87, died May 7, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. She was born Jan. 30, 1927, to Hugh Cecil and Willa Patton Hayes in Hoisington, Kan.

She married Dale Miner Feb. 14, 1947, in Hoisington, Kan. He died March 12, 2002.

Mary was a homemaker and mother and was very involved in the Navy Sea Bees, planning parties, banquets, and reunions for many years.

Survivors include: a daughter, Dr. Thalia Lopez and her husband Luis II of Wichita, Kan.; son, Robert Miner and wife Denise of South Carolina; granddaughters, Elizabeth Miner of Georgia, Erica Lopez of Wichita; grandsons, Nathaniel Miner of North Carolina, Michael Miner of Georgia; a great-grandson on the way; and a brother, Hugh Hayes of Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; and a grandson, Luis Lopez III.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Yates presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
