Mary Lou Nutterfield, 89, died December 18, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was born March 28, 1931, in Hutchinson, to Dewey and Selma (Wright) Brown.

Mary Lou graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949.  She then attended Hutchinson Junior College, and graduated from Emporia State Teachers College. Mary Lou worked for Southwestern Bell, before finishing her career with Hutchinson Regional Medical Center as a PBX operator. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting afghans, and working on her computer.

On August 15, 1952, she married Leland T. "Lee" Nutterfield in Hutchinson.  They met while Lee was home on leave from the Navy in Emporia, KS.  Mary Lou and Lee shared over 68 years of marriage.

Mary Lou is survived by:  husband, Lee of Hutchinson; sons, Paul Nutterfield (Christine) of Portland, OR, Mike Nutterfield (Elke) of McKinney, TX; four granddaughters, Taylor, Madison, Emma, and Lily Nutterfield; and beloved dogs, Jack and Jill.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time.  Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Rec Commission (to benefit the sculpture art walk, which Mary Lou strongly supported), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
