Mary Elizabeth Ryan, 74, died Aug. 31, 2008, at Lakepoint Nursing Home, Rose Hill.

She was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Robert Bruce and Florence E. Johnson Hudson. She graduated in 1951 from Geneseo High School. A longtime Hutchinson resident, formerly of Geneseo, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to the First United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Rebekah's Lodge, and a volunteer for the Espanola, N.M. Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include: sons, Dwight and wife Shirley, Hutchinson, Gary and wife Karen, Stafford, and Warren and wife Karen, Wichita; daughter, Jodi Bustos and husband Billy, Chimayo, N.M.; a brother, the Rev. Dan Hudson and wife Roberta, Ballwin, Mo.; a sister, Julia Hudson, Santa Fe, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Dorothy Ryan, Pawnee, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her former husband Jack Ryan.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
