MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - Mary Kay (Myers) Stiggins, 67, passed away Oct. 26, 2012, in Dallas, Texas.
She was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Garden City, Kan., the daughter of C. Edward and Lois Louise (Hudson) Myers.
On Dec. 30, 1965, she married Larry L. Stiggins in Sylvia. She had been a resident of Texas for 38 of the last 43 years. Mary Kay was a 1963 graduate of Sylvia Rural High School, a member of Sylvia United Methodist Church and was in education for 35 years, retiring as a braillist from Lubbock Independent School District in 2011.
She is survived by: her husband, Larry; their children, Stephanie and Tye Wood and their nephew, Cameron Wood of Lubbock, Texas, Todd and Erin and grandson, Hudson Wyatt Stiggins of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Steve and Lynne Myers of Brownsville, Texas, Carl and Ramona Myers of Hutchinson; father, Ed of Hutchinson; and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Sylvia Cemetery, with Reverend Harry Graves officiating, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Sylvia United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joyce E. Beam officiating. Friends may sign her register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
