Mary J. Stringer's Obituary
Mary J. Stringer, 100, died Jan. 16, 2013, at the Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kan.
She was born Oct. 14, 1912, in Wellsville, Ohio, the daughter of William and Myrtle Culp Lowry.
A 1930 graduate of Wellsville High School, she married John T. Stringer Oct. 31, 1935, in New Cumberland, W.Va.
She was a homemaker and following her husband's death, she worked in the bakery at the 4th St. Dillon's Store. Mary was a member at First Presbyterian Church and a fifty-year member of the Silver Leaf Chapter #464, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors: son, Tom Stringer and wife Sherri of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Ricki Mullet of Hutchinson and Kathy Stringer of Overland Park, Kan.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, with Pastor Don Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Reno County.
