Mary June Stucky, 79, died Aug. 14, 2006 at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1927 in Sylvia, the daughter of James Myron and Mildred Audrey Miles Shepherd, Sr. She graduated from Sylvia High School in 1946. A Hutchinson resident since 1946, she was an operator, service assistant and clerk for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., retiring after 32-plus years of service.
She belonged to the First Mennonite Church and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and American Legion Auxiliary, Lysle Rishel Post No. 68.
On Aug. l, 1957, she married Eldon Loyd "Ed" Stucky in Hutchinson. He died Nov. 20, 1996.
Survivors include: a brother, J. Myron Shepherd, Hutchinson; four sisters, Joy Moeckel, Hays, Sharon Smith, Lawrence, Janie Graham and Audrey Nusser both of St. John; and a sisiter-in-law, Ruth Stucky of the home.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Debbie Schmidt presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont.
