Mary Jane Woodson, 84, died May 9, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Danville, Illinois, to John Thurman and Pansy Marie Hunt Lewis. She had been a Hutchinson resident since 1949. She attended Medora Community Bible Church and was a homemaker.
On Jan. 13, 1946, she married Walter D. Woodson at Danville, Ill. He died July 4, 2006. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Mona and Butch Gilliland, Marquita and Michael Jobe-Frederiksen, AND Rita and Danny Schwartz, all of Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Lori and Ivan Cox, Angey Hohl, Matthew and Kimberly Jobe, Amanda Jobe, Amy and Ben Kraft; nine great-grandchildren, Trey and Clancy Cox, Kirsten and Seuris Hohl, Savannah, Kennadi and Payton Jobe, Eli and Zeke Kraft; five brother and sisters in law, Bill Williams, Marie Lewis, Marti Lewis, Anna Taylor, Marilyn Woodson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters: John, Leo, William and Jack Lewis, Katherine Richards, Alice Williams, Maybelle, Pansy and Esther Lewis.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and until service time Thursday. Family will be present 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, all at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Lerado Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Medora Community Bible Church or Vermilion County Historical Museum, Danville, Ill., in care of the mortuary.
