Obituary

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Maryalma Fair, 92, died Jan. 15, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born June 30, 1914, in Geneseo, the daughter of Porter and Myrtle Mae Loutzenhiser Liscum. In 1932, she graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Salt City Business College. A lifetime area resident, she was a farmer's wife.

She was past president of Lincoln E.H.U, past president of the Darlow Club, was active in Statewide Federated Women's Club, Reno County Farm Bureau board member, Reno County E.H.U advisory board, 4-H cooking leader, and was a judge's assistant at county and state fairs.

On Aug. 14, 1938, she married William Adolphus Fair in Hutchinson. He died April 5, 2006.

Survivors include: a son, Gary L. and wife, Linda, Wellington; two daughters, Kay Fair, Columbia, Mo., and Joyce Bos, Platteville, Wis.; a sister, Ruth Edmond, Great Bend; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Henry and Frank Porter Liscum; and a sister, Paulene Meade Foote.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Chaplin Melvin Walton officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. until noon Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place.
