Marybel C. Graber, 88, died Nov. 21, 2005, in Thorne Care Center.
She was born June 9, 1917, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Fred and Mabel Booher Gookins. She attended Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Community College, Kansas University, Adela Hale Business College and graduated from Sterling College. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she was a teacher, having taught in Buhler, Burrton and Haven schools. She was also the co-owner of Tri Point Equipment.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church; Loyal Order of Moose No. 982; and was past president of Elm Grove Residence Association.
On Feb. 9, 1947, she married Harold J. Graber in Wichita. He died April 1, 1987.
Survivors include: a son, Gary Graber and wife, Lorie, Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Mary Ann Altvater and husband, Kim, Hutchinson, Jann Newton and husband, Bill, Wichita; six grandchildren, Gabrielle Magliano, Mandy Seidl, Jennifer Newton, Kyle Altvater, Cody Newton and Jonathan Altvater; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
