Obituary

M. Dean Tucker, 88, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 12, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

Dean was born July 23, 1924, in Belleville, Kan., the son of Lee E. and Ada C. (Fritzinger) Tucker.

Dean graduated from Courtland High School in 1942 and immediately entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served in the 8th Air Force as a bombardier on a B-24 during World War II. After the war, he attended Kansas State University. He was an estimator and project manager for Hunter and Lundberg Construction Co. in Manhattan for many years. In 1975, he and his family moved to Hutchinson, where he worked for Ewing Construction Co. Dean was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, the Association of General Contractors, Delta Sigma Phi, V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361, and was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Manhattan.

Dean married Wilda Teeter on Aug. 30, 1949, in Los Angeles, Calif., during an on-air broadcast of the "Bride & Groom" radio show. She survives.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Debra Albair and husband William of St. Louis, Mo., Julie Hogan and husband Jack of Broken Arrow, Okla., and DeAnn Gradert and husband Steve of Wichita; a brother, Ken Tucker of Plainville; six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Good Samaritan Village, Clubhouse 2 (north side of the complex), 814 E. 30th, Hutchinson. Inurnment will be at a later date.
