Matthew John Torrez, 20, of Hutchinson, died May 30, 2022, at his home. He was born September 2, 2001, in Hutchinson, to Joseph Torrez and Melissa Crafton.

Matthew attended Hutchinson High School. He was working as a package handler for UPS. Matthew loved skateboarding; it was his favorite past time. He also enjoyed music, especially rap and Johnny Cash. Matthew was known for his sense of humor by friends and family. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Matthew is survived by: mother, Melissa Crafton, Hutchinson; father, Joseph Torrez Sr., Hutchinson; siblings, Joseph Torrez Jr., Jessica Phillips, Mary Torrez (Chris Biswell), Marcus Torrez, Alec Torrez, Trinity Torrez, Abigail Torrez, Rebeka Torrez, Eva Torrez, Julian Torrez, Nicholas Torrez; nieces, Eloise Biswell, Lyla and Mya Phillips; grandmother, Louise Wagner; grandfather, Frank Torrez; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: grandfather, Melvin Crafton; grandmother, Mary Torrez; uncle, Ray Torrez; aunt, Angela Young.

Parish rosary will be 7 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Graveside service will be 10 am Friday June 10, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 am to 4 pm Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
