SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Mattie Lee Westfahl, 94, died Nov. 15, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Green County, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Mary Blades Nation, and was raised by Curtis and Flossie Newman. She graduated from Eureka High School in Oklahoma in 1930. A longtime Arlington resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Arlington Presbyterian Church, Arlington Home Extension Unit for 50 years and Y.W.C.A.
On June 1, 1930, she married Henry "Hank" Westfahl in Liberal. He died July 20, 2003.
Other survivors include: a son, James Westfahl and wife, Eleanor, Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Steven Westfahl, Arlington, Mark Westfahl and wife, Heather, Walden, Colo., and Sharon Bollin, Joplin, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Henry Charles and Samantha Jo Westfahl and Reese Ann Bollin; several nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers; and a granddaughter, Sheri Ann Westfahl.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Park Presbyterian Church, 700 East 25th, with the Rev. Donald L. Ray presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
