Maurine C. "Rene" Wilkerson-Summey, 90, died Dec. 13, 2006, at her home.

She was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Monett, Mo., the daughter of Guy Golden and Delia Patterson Carr. She graduated high school in LaHunta, Colo., in 1934. A resident of Hutchinson since 1943, she was the owner and operator of Wilkerson's Adult Care Home, for 30 years.

She belonged to Nazarene Peniel Church for more than 60 years.

On May 23, 1941, she married John B. Wilkerson. He died April 25, 1987. On Dec. 17, 1988, she married Leo Earl Summey in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Harlan Wilkerson, Hutchinson; a daughter, Sallie L. Stewart, Hutchinson; five stepchildren; a brother, Wilford Carden, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren, Janie Wade and David Wilkerson, Arlington, Texas, Rachel Law-Snyder, Malynda Lightsey, and Jared Wilkerson, all of Hutchinson, Jennifer Feeken, Michelle Houston, Tamara Ockree, and Kimberly Wilkerson, all of Topeka, and Joshua Wilkerson, and Jenna Wilkerson, both of Gladstone, Mo.; 18 great-grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren; 36 step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Randy Wilkerson.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Paul Danner presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
