Max J. Heter's Obituary
Max J. Heter, 74, died March 19, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center, ER, Hutchinson.
He was born June 24, 1936, in Hutchinson, the son of Leonard L. and Viola B. Allen Heter.
A graduate of Hutchinson High School in 1955, he was a rancher, horseman and a television director.
Max was a member of the Pretty Prairie Saddle Club and the American Quarter Horse Association.
On April 29, 1965, he married Ann Buchstein in Denver, Colo. She survives.
Other survivors include: four children, Steven Heter of McPherson, Marlene Heter of Haven, Diana Heter and husband Didier Delepine of Charlestown, Mass., and Allen Heter of Stuttgart, Germany; two brothers, Leonard Joe Heter and wife Donna, and Paul Heter, all of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Janel Ullman, Diego Borrelli, Nicole Borrelli, Lindsay Durant, Ross Fishburn, Wesley Heter and Austin Heter; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Jimie-Wray Mead presiding. Family will greet friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the mortuary.
