Maxine Benton's Obituary
Maxine Benton, 88, died December 2, 2012, at her home. She was born July 5, 1924, in Hutchinson to Jay and Nellie Landis Hollinger.
On July 16, 1941, she married Farren Alvis Benton. He died December 11, 2002.
She retired as co-owner/operator of Benton Floral and Greenhouse in Hutchinson and Newton. Maxine attended Medora Bible Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Diana Beasley (Steve), Yoder; three sons, Farren Benton, Jr, Edwardsville, KS, Larry Benton (Connie), Lampe, Mo., and Terry Benton, Hutchinson; brother, Lavon Hollinger, Wichita; sister, Frances Fraser, Vian, Okla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Harlow Hollinger.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
Inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Darlow. Memorials may be sent to Harden Hospice, in care of the mortuary.
