Obituary

Maxine Lindburg, 87, died March 23, 2006, at The Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.

She was born July 22, 1918, in Langdon, the daughter of Frank E. and Elfa Leola Stewart Parker. She was a graduate of Langdon High School and attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Emporia State Teachers College and the University of Colorado at Boulder. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a teacher, having taught in Langdon, Plevna, Oakley, Pretty Prairie, Hutchinson and Americus from 1938 to 1948.

She belonged to First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Daughters of American Colonist, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, past Vice-Regent of Daughters of the American Revolution, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, Reno County Genealogical Society, Reno County Historical Society and was a volunteer at the Hutchinson Public Library and the Reno County Sheriff Patrol.

On June 15, 1947, she married Cliff Lindburg in Langdon. He died March 7, 1996.

Survivors include: two daughters, Frieda Lindburg and her husband, Dirk, Haven, and Ann Sybert and her husband, Doug, Hudson, Colo.; special friends, Stewart and Osun Flinn and their daughters, Tracy, Tiffany and Tammy.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Lindburg.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Langdon Cemetery.
