Maxine Vanek, 94, of Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Hutchinson, died June 12, 2010, in Maumelle, Ark.
She was born April 15, 1916, in Nickerson, the daughter of Ralph and Lillian Hook Lamberth.
A longtime Reno County resident, she was a member of First Christian Church, the Iris Club, and the Silver Leaf Chapter #464 Order of Eastern Star, all of Hutchinson. She was a 1936 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She was an avid bowler and card player.
On June 15, 1936, she married Raymond W. Vanek in Nickerson. He died Sept. 10, 1989.
Survivors include: a son, Raymond W. Vanek, Jr. and wife Doris, Hutchinson; a daughter, Judy Baker and husband Douglas, Kansas City, Kan.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Will, Harold, Ralph and Vernie Lamberth; and two sisters, Vivian Archer and Irene Posey.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday, all at the mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
