Meghan Ruthann Butler, 31, departed this world for her heavenly home on Nov. 9, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1983, in Hutchinson, to Nathaniel J. Butler and Vonciel J. Trotter.
Meghan was a diabetic since the age of 17 months and suffered all the consequences of this debilitating illness. She had her good days and bad days but rarely complained. Meghan was a loving mother, faithful daughter and a kind, warm-hearted person. She was a member of Foundation of Life Ministries Church, enjoyed scrapbooking, Facebook, music, and the company of good friends and family.
Survivors include: son, Laffeyette J. Butler (6 yrs), of the home; mother, Vonciel J. Trotter (Art); brothers, DeWayne Butler, DeShawn Butler, Nate Webb, all of Illinois; sister, Tamekia Hobbs of Texas; grandmother, Claudia J. Hairston of Hutchinson; uncle, Anthony S. Trotter (Joann) of Topeka; aunts, Yvonne K. Johnson, Josephine A. Ford (Corey), Martha Tolbert (Bo), all of Hutchinson, Michelle L. Thomas (Shannon), McPherson; numerous cousins, friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by: her father; older sister, Monique C. Trotter; and a paternal grandmother, Ocie Butler.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Bishop Melvin Watson presiding. Burial will take place in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
