Melvin I. Doty's Obituary
Melvin I. Doty, 95, died June 13, 2015, at Wheat State Manor Inc., Whitewater. He was born May 27, 1920, in Newton, to David I. and Edith A. (Burbridge) Doty.
Melvin was a projectionist at Fox Theatre and drive-in theaters in Hutchinson. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church.
On April 12, 1963, he married Geneva D. Montgomery in Newton. She died Aug. 16, 2004. Melvin is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson KS 67501.
