Melvin Gene Uphoff, Sr., 72, died November 8, 2019. He was born February 3, 1947, in Florence, to Albert and Alice (Stamp) Uphoff.

Melvin worked for many years delivering papers for the Hutchinson News.

He is survived by: son, Melvin Uphoff, Jr., Hutchinson; daughter, Angela Galloway (Chris), Wichita; brother, Albert Uphoff (Judy), Belleville; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rosalie Spaniol.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Crossroads Christian Church, with Pastor Kevin Guffey officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Melvin Uphoff, Sr. Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
