Merlin R. "Bud" Schneider, 90, died December 18, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  He was born May 11, 1931, in Densmore, KS, the son of Anthony F. & Mable (Bortner) Schneider.

Bud was a graduate of Densmore High School and served in the U.S. Navy.  He married Barbara Shantz July 25, 1953, in Phillipsburg, KS.  Bud was a retired distribution and warehouse manager for Farmland Industries in McPherson.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara of the home; daughters, Jeannie and husband Dave Allmon of Abilene, Patty Campbell and husband John of Nickerson, Anita Willis and husband Jim of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren, Melissa Collins (Matt), Laura Rohrer (Fred), Amy Rhea (Jack), Ben Brandt (Miranda), Josh Allmon, Ryan, Daniel and Luke Willis, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by: his parents; infant brother Vernon and brothers Sherman, Jim and Tom; and a granddaughter Charlotte Allmon.

Memorial service will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Elliott Chapel with Rev. Philip Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
