Michael Wayne Crowl, 79, died July 2, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born November 5, 1945, in Lyons, to Nelson Wayne and Leota Eldora (Carlson) Crowl.
Michael graduated from Little River High School, Little River, in 1963. After over 25 years at Betts (Rainbo) Bakery working as a mechanic, Michael went on to work as head of maintenance for the Lindsborg Old Mill and Swedish Heritage Museum in Lindsborg.
Michael prioritized spending time with his family and friends. Most people were just friends he hadn't met yet and he recently enjoyed having coffee with a group of regulars several times a week. Throughout his life he loved cars, working on them, talking about them, even drag racing them.
On July 3, 1964, he married Sherryl Lynn Frye, in Hutchinson. They shared over 60 years of marriage.
Michael is survived by: his wife, Sherryl Crowl of Hutchinson, KS; daughter, Lori Crowl of Prairie Village, KS; grandson, Skyler Colladay of Lawrence, KS; sisters, Delores Fundenberger of Lyons, KS, and Roberta (Paul) Greenman of Wichita, and also remembers her late husband, Larry Alderson; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Gizmo.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Cynthia Crowl Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Dunsworth; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Fundenberger.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary.
