WICHITA - Michael D. Armstrong, 26, died June 20, 2008, at his home, Wichita.

He was born Jan. 15, 1982, in Wichita, the son of Michael J. and Barbara J. Davis Armstrong. He graduated from Buhler High School in 2000, attended Hutchinson Community College, and Mobile Dynamics, Phoenix, Ariz.

A resident of Wichita, being raised in Hutchinson, he was an automotive audio systems technician.

He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the North Carolina Tarheels. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and electronics.

Survivors include: his mother, Barbara Ortiz and her husband, Fred, Wichita; stepbrothers, Kelly Collum, Lawrence, Ryan Collum, Hutchinson, and Chad Ortiz, Wichita; stepsister, Karla Cockrum, Wichita; grandmother, Bernice Davis, Hutchinson; grandparents, John and Isabelle Davis, Raymond, Ks., Virginia Hopman, Bella Vista, Ark.; and a special friend, Dana Brinkmeyer, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Armstrong, grandfather, Robert Armstrong, and his beloved dog, Tyson.

Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Betty Bachman presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday and until service time Tuesday at the mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
