Michael Ray "Jim" Nelson, 33, died July 28, 2014, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born Nov. 22, 1980, in Adrian, Minn., the son of Ronald and Shirley (Miller) Nelson.
He was a 1999 graduate of Haven High School and had attended Hutchinson Community College. Michael was a satellite installation technician for Blue Sky Satellite and a concrete finisher for Miller Home Builders.
He is survived by: his parents of Yoder; three brothers, Brian and Tanya, Brad and Kelly of Hutchinson, Aaron and Heather of Nickerson; aunt and uncles, Marion and Brenda Miller of Hutchinson, Ray and Deb Miller of Haven, Laura and Barry Nicks of Show Low, Ariz., Frank Culbertson of Texas; nieces and nephews, Emily and Hadley, Bryce, Taylor, Addrick, Atton and Zachary, Deegan O'Neal and Bryar Higgins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harley and Tillie Miller, Oscar Nelson, Lee and Valoris Eickhoff; an aunt and uncle, Vyila Culbertson and Greg Grantz.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Jeff Slater presiding. Cremation will follow, with private family burial in Yoder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
