Michael Eugene "Mike" Meyer, 50, a resident of Disability Supports of the Great Plains, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. He was born in Wichita on January 2, 1962, the son of Gene and Judy Cantrell Meyer.

He graduated from West High Special Education, Wichita, in 1983. He was dearly loved by the staff and residents of Disability Supports for the last 26 years, was an enthusiastic participant in their social activities and loved visiting with his many friends. He enjoyed fishing and always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by: his mother and stepfather, Judy and Galen Fruth, Wichita; sisters, Debbie (Tim) Evans, Wichita, Cathy (Randy) Greer, Fairfield, Calif.; his adored nieces and nephews, Chad Robinson, Brice (Megan) Lowe, Lindsey Moser, all of Wichita, Amber (Christian) Crews, Rio Linda, Calif.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Zoey Robinson, Zeppelin Robinson, Josie Lowe, Wichita, Cameron Crews, Aiden Crews, Rio Linda, Calif., and dear friend, Julie. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 East 25th Ave, Hutchinson, with Pastor Joseph S. Rychcik officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disability Supports of the Great Plains (Activities Scholarship Fund), in care of the mortuary.
