Michael S. "Mike" Hanes Jr., 50, died Dec. 18, 2013, at Hospice House. He was born June 14, 1963, at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, to Michael S. Sr. and Mary C. (Crum) Hanes.

Mike graduated from Vacaville High School in 1981 and worked as a computer installer for M.A.P.S. On May 20, 1984, he married Renada Mays in California. Mike is survived by: son, Michael James Hanes and wife Kelly of Hutchinson; parents, Michael and Mary Hanes of Sterling; brothers, Sam Hanes of Sterling, Dan Hanes of Columbus, Ohio; ex-wife, Renada Mays of Hammond, Ind.; and five nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to donor's choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
