Mike J. Engle's Obituary
Mike J. Engle, 73, died June 6, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1935, in Evanston, Ill., son of Mike and Minnie Marie Richter Engle. He was a longtime resident of Hutchinson.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1997 from the Eaton Dept. of Maintenance.
On June 4, 1955, he married Christine Spaulding. On June 14, 1958, he married Patricia Ann Slack in Hutchinson. She died Dec. 1, 1982. On Dec. 30, 1989, he married Myrtle Marie Self in Hutchinson. She died Oct. 13, 2007.
Survivors include: Michael S., Columbus, Ohio, Richard D., Hutchinson, Kenneth W. and wife Jennifer, Fort Scott; daughter, Sharon L. Engle, Hutchinson; sisters, Mary Stedman, Molalla, Ore., Bernice Tayon, Granite City, Ill., Alice Bienlich, Burleson, Texas, Joyce Turkington, Mundelein, Ill., Minna Drinka, Waukegan, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Randall Turner officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial, Hutchinson.
