Michael Brenton "Mike" Sherow, 73, died January 4, 2022, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE.  He was born February 28, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Joseph Brenton "Brent" and Hattie (Burling) Sherow.

Mike graduated from Fairfield High School in 1966, and attended Salt City Business College.  He worked as a cattle buyer his entire life.  As a youngster, Mike would spend his days at his uncle's sale barn in South Hutchinson.  Cattle were in Mike's blood, and as a result, he traveled extensively to buy cattle, making friends everywhere he went.

On July 12, 2002, he married Dena Kelman, at their home in Langdon.

Mike is survived by:  his wife of 19 years, Dena of Langdon; twin-sons, Ron Schomaker (Jamie) of Yates Center, Ryan Schomaker (Marsha) of Valley Center; sons, Bryce Sherow and Colin Sherow of Langdon; stepdaughter, Christy Weilert of Wichita; daughter, Shelley Schomaker of MO; half-brother, David Sherow of Hutchinson; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his aunt and uncle, Melvin and Ethel Bailey, who raised Mike.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Turon Community Church, 411 North Main Street, Turon, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating.  Burial will follow in Langdon Cemetery, Langdon.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church.  The casket will remain closed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Turon Community Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.

The family requests those attending to wear their western wear (cowboy boots and jeans), in honor of Mike.
