Mildred June Baughman, 82, died April 1, 2011, at Hospice House. She was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Heavener, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elvin M. and Altha Angle Parker. Mildred graduated from Glendale Union High School, Glendale, Arizona, in 1946. She attended the University of Arizona at Tempe, and Salt City Business College.
She married John Baughman in 1948. He died Feb. 25, 1962. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was the Reno County Commissioner from 1967 to 1991. Mildred is survived by: a son, Larry Baughman and wife April, Olathe; daughters, Joanna Johnson and husband Van, Hutchinson, Maryl Baruch, Irving, Texas, and Laura Bloss and husband Ron, Tomball, Texas; and grandchildren, Libby Baughman, Scott and Brian Johnson, and Maggie Baruch.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Calvin and Harlan Parker.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tom Mayse presiding. Friends may sign her book Sunday and Monday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
