Obituary

VALDOSTA, Ga. - Mildred L. Griffin, 87, died Monday Aug. 21, 2006, at Langdale Place, Valdosta, Ga.

She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Castleton, the daughter of John Earl and Grace E. Cogswell Hayes. She made her home in the Hutchinson area until moving to Valdosta in 1998.

She belonged to Castleton Union Church and was a member of the Missionary Society, Castleton.

On Oct. 17, 1943, she married Louis B. Griffin at Castleton Union Church. He died Feb. 1, 1992.

Survivors include: a son, Howard Griffin and wife, Barbara, Yardley, Pa.; two daughters, Marilyn Noah and husband, Roger of Ottawa and Janice Murphy and husband, Don of Valdosta, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Darrin Noah and wife, Maggie, Brock Noah and wife, Misti, Matt Jones, Phil Jones and wife, Kelly and Micah Griffin, Reed Griffin, Patrick Griffin and Elizabeth Griffin; and three great-grandchildren, Brianna Noah, Madison Noah and Keaton Noah.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Roger Noah and Pastor Robert Ulrich presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., all at Elliott Chapel. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
