Mildred L. "Ticky" McAdams, 82, died Feb. 10, 2016, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born July 9, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Mary (Northrup) Lindblade.
After graduating from high school, Ticky moved to Hutchinson. Ticky began working as a legal secretary and then took a break to raise her children.
She was a loving and devoted mother, being a room mother, and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She resumed her legal career and worked for Stu Oswalt for many years before retiring. Ticky was also involved in the Women's Postal Auxiliary, the Birthday Girl's Club (the BGs), the Hospice "Remember Me" Tree program, the American Legion, the Reno County Museum and the Hutchinson Zoo.
She married Lloyd McAdams on December 15, 1951 in Hutchinson. Ticky is survived by: her husband; daughters, Karri McAdams of Hutchinson, Sharon Wetzel (Orville) of Topeka, Susan Webb (Tim) of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Sara Wetzel of Lyons, Adam Wetzel of Kansas City, Rachel Webb, Clayton Webb, both of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Betty Hoefer (Stan) of Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Bill Gentry of Tribune; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Lou Gentry.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Gary Getting officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday, Feb. 19, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary.
