Mildred Marie (Millie) Heinemann Rintoul completed her earthly journey on June 21, 2014, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born July 1, 1921, in Wisner, Nebraska, the only daughter of John Heinemann and Marie Wieland Heinemann.
Mildred received Normal Training in Wisner, Nebr., and taught in a one-room school house for six years before moving to Chicago. In 1986, she moved to Hutchinson and volunteered at the Hutchinson Public Library from 1987 to 1995. She also worked as a news clerk for the Hutchinson News from October of 1994 to December of 2005.
In 1944, she moved to Garden City, Kansas where she met David E. Rintoul, to whom she was married on April 5, 1948. He died July 10, 1985.
To this marriage were born six children, Helen Wells (Al), Hutchinson, Dave (Elizabeth), Manhattan, John (Betty), Carrboro, North Carolina, Anne Rintoul, Hutchinson, Mary Rintoul, Hutchinson, and Janet Young (John), Grand Junction, Colo. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Millie was predeceased by her parents, husband, three brothers, Harry Heinemann, L.J. Heinemann, and Lester Heinemann, and a stepbrother, Vernon Frahm.
Millie was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson.
In accordance with Millie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Millie's life will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2014, at Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
