Obituary

Mildred Laurine Neufeld, 95, died Aug. 24, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Miles City, Mont., the daughter of James O. and Nellie B. (Bishop) Gitchell. She was a 1936 graduate of Hutchinson High School.

Mildred attended and taught Sunday school at Arlington United Methodist Church, was a member of EHU and Good Sam Camping Club. Mildred was devoted to her family and friends. She always had a smile for everyone she met.On Dec. 24, 1937, she married Isaac S. Neufeld in Hutchinson. He died Aug. 25, 2008.

Survivors include: children, James Neufeld and wife Jan of Three Forks, Mont., Nancy Ediger and husband Stan of Brighton, Colo., Kenneth Neufeld and wife Carol of Arlington, and Eva Neufeld and life partner Diane Inserra of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Joyce Beam presiding. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, all at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arlington United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
