Milo Calvin Hill, 85, died October 1, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson. He was born August 23, 1924 in Smith County, KS the son of Emery Bert and Dovie Marie (House) Hill.
A 1942 graduate of Portis High School, Portis, KS Milo was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific 3rd Fleet on the U.S.S. Anthony. He was a farmer.
He was a resident of Independence for six years before moving to Hutchinson in June 2009. A lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Smith Center and a member of Disabled American Veterans, Independence, he was of the protestant faith.
Milo married E. Katharine Shellito on September 25, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Don E. Hill and his wife L. Darlene, Independence and a daughter, Norma K. Hill, Hutchinson; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harlan E. Hill.
Milo has willed his body to the Kansas University Medical Center. No services are scheduled.
