Obituary

Milton E. Green Sr., 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior, March 3, 2008, at Hospice House.

He was born May 22, 1922, in Hutchinson, the son of George and Maggie Ball Green. He was a longtime resident of Hutchinson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Okla. He was an Over the Road Truck Driver for Krause Plow, P.I.E., Navajo and A.B.F. Truck Lines.

He belonged to First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, and the Teamsters Union. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in China, Central Burma and India-Burma.

On May 9, 1942, he married Arlie O. Ransom, Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, David Green, Hutchinson, and Milton E. "Bud" Green Jr., San Dimas, Calif.; a daughter, Janice Jones, Hutchinson; a brother, Ralph Green, Hutchinson; two sisters, Elsie Burnett, Montrose, Colo., and Glenna Frye, Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, with the Rev. R. Kendall Franklin presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military graveside honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
