Mitchell Lynn Marker, 62, of Lubbock, Texas, died June 1, 2026, at Crown Point Health Suites in Lubbock after a battle he lost to cancer. He was born August 17, 1963, in Scott City, Kansas, to Orland Gay and Lillian (Beeson) Marker.
Lynn graduated from Scott City High School and obtained an Associate’s Degree from Colby Community College. For the last eight years he worked as an inspector with Magnolia River Services, a role he truly loved! Lynn was a retiree of the Armed Forces after 22 years, joining the Navy in 1986 for 9 years, followed by the Army Reserve for 7 years and the Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a believer and of the Methodist faith.
Lynn married Kelly Plumisto in 1985, in Colby, Kansas, and they divorced in 2010.
He is survived by his son, Jarrett Craig Marker (Nichelle) of Colby, Kansas; two grandchildren, Tripp and Cora; stepmother, Carol Marker of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Pam Marker of Hutchinson, Kansas; brother, Travis Marker of Palm Springs, California; multiple stepbrothers and stepsisters; plus many extended family members and friends, including so many from the Plumisto family.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Orland Gay Marker, Lillian Marker-Pike, and stepfather, Frederick Pike.
Cremation has taken place.
Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Elliott Chapel, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking this link: click here to view the service. The link will be active beginning at 2:50 p.m. Saturday.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. in Elliott Chapel.
Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
