Mitchell Montgomery, 54, of Haysville, KS, died April 10, 2014.

He was born on July 10, 1959, in Hutchinson, the son of Mary Laird Montgomery and the late Carroll "Monte" Montgomery.

Mitch was a machinist at Boeing in Wichita and a champion sport shooter in Kansas and Oklahoma. He was forced to retire from both, due to his failing vision. He is survived by: his mother, Mary, of Hutchinson; a sister, Blythe Montgomery of Fordland, Mo.; four aunts, Rose Ann Tisch of Chatham, NJ, Janet Laird of Hutchinson, Bettye Henderson and husband Burt of Morrilton, AR, and Glenna Suggs of Dallas, Texas.

Private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
