Monique M. Ratzlaff, 84, died June 3, 2024, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born in Rousset, A'Con, Eure-Normandy, France, to Maurice and Olga Joffrette (Jaffeux) Dieu.

Monique graduated from a Catholic school in France in 1956. She owned Kitchen Creations in the mall for over 15 years. She later became a cafeteria assistant at Trinity Catholic School. Monique enjoyed bowling, ceramics, stain glass, jewelry, crocheting, and cooking. She collected Pez and Hummel figurines.

She married Elbert A. Hurd in 1956, after meeting in France where Elbert was stationed with the United States Air Force. He died February 9, 1991. On May 7, 1999, she married Larry D. Ratzlaff, in Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 25 years of marriage prior to her death.

Monique is survived by: husband, Larry D. Ratzlaff of Hutchinson; daughters, Patricia (Bradley) Unruh of Hutchinson, Pamela (Mike) Durkin of St. Petersburg, FL; son, Michael (Patricia) Hurd of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Cheryl (Jeremy) Gonsalves of Hutchinson, Wesley (Kadrian) Hurd of Bartlesville, OK, Jordan Roth of Hutchinson, Hunter Baker of St. Petersburg FL, and Monique (Eric Heller) Jones of Bartlesville, OK; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Yvette Siour, Andrée Stephan, and Mary-Therese Messager, all of France; stepsons, Anthony (Susie) Ratzlaff, and Joseph (Jess) Ratzlaff, both of Hutchinson; daughter in-law, Vickie Hurd of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Maurice and Olga; husband, Elbert A. Hurd; and son, Gary Hurd.

Funeral service will be 11:30 Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Inspire Church. Burial will be 2:00 Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, at Elliott Mortuary. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
