Monte Ray Warrington, 'Gold Diesel', 69, of Hutchinson, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Via Christi on St. Francis Campus, Wichita. He was born October 7, 1947, in Hardtner, Kansas, the son of Harry and Pauline (Coggins) Warrington. Monte graduated from Kiowa High School in 1965. He worked for 50 years as a truck driver, first as an independent owner/operator, and then driving for Farmers Oil Company in Anthony and Consolidated Manufacturing in Hutchinson. After retirement, he worked for C & S Rolloff Service of Hutchinson. Monte enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and auto racing, and was a member of Journey Mennonite Church@South Hutchinson.
On October 24, 1975, he married Connie Rae Yutzy at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughters, Christy Reihs (Jeff) of Haven, Jennifer Kurtz (John) of Hutchinson; son, Darin Warrington of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Garrett, Savannah, and Cheyenne Reihs; brother, Jerry Warrington (Annette) of Hutchinson; sister, Ruth Hawkins of Wichita; sisters-in-law, Cathy Warrington of Howard, Vickie Warrington of Hutchinson, Patsy Thomas (Larry) of Aline, Oklahoma, Myrna Christiansen of Hutchinson, Gloria Hall (Steve) of Hutchinson, Stella Riney of Haven; mother-in-law, Vida Yutzy of Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends.
Monte was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Robert, Don, Larry, Russell, David, Ron; sister, Carol Weidkamp; father-in-law, Fred Yutzy; brothers-in-law, James Yutzy and Jeff Hawkins; and nephew, Jay Christiansen.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Journey Mennonite Church, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Darlow. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
