Monty Smith, 59, died Nov. 17, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Jan. 21, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Loren and Ennis (Meyers) Smith.

Monty graduated from Haven High School in 1975 and worked in the maintenance department of USD 308 for 35 years, retiring in 2010. On June 30, 1979, he married Annette Marie Rayl in South Hutchinson. Survivors include: wife, Annette, of the home; sons, Owen and Austin of Hutchinson; a brother; a sister; devoted nephew, Chad Morgan of Hutchinson; Bowser, the black cat; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; dozens of pet cats, including Mishka, a special Siamese cat.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family to receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
