Obituary

Mora Lee Weber, of Hutchinson, passed away on June 15, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, of COVID pneumonia.  She was born July 13, 1933, in Hutchinson, to Fritz and Helen English.

Mora Lee graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1951. She then attended Colorado Women's College and completed her studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music. Mora Lee taught countless students piano lessons in her home for over 60 years. She was also a member of Holy Cross Church where she used her musical talents to play organ and sing in the choir. Mora Lee was also heavily involved with the Hutchinson Symphony for many years.  Later in life she took up painting and became very accomplished.

Mora Lee loved people and always had a smile on her face with those trademark red glasses.  Whenever she saw someone, just greeting them was not enough and would always inquire about their life. It was never about her.  First & foremost, she was a mother and a gatherer. Family meals were very important. She was a great cook, although the kitchen looked like an explosion once the meal was ready.

On October 15, 1955, she married John "Jerry" Weber in Hutchinson. They shared 60 years of marriage together before he passed on December 15, 2015.

Mora Lee is survived by: son, Bill Weber (Lori), Houston, TX; son, Joe Weber, Wichita KS; daughter, Laurie Carr, Hutchinson KS; son, Terry Weber, Lawrence KS; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Helen English; husband, Jerry Weber; and brother, Stamey English.

Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2021, with Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m.  Both will be at the   Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson KS.  Father Aaron Spexarth will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  There will be a reception after the burial at the Fairfield Inn, 1111 N Lorraine, Hutchinson.
