November 30, 1928 – January 4, 2018
Myrel A. Meadows, 89, of South Hutchinson, died January 4, 2018, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born November 30, 1928, in Seneca, MO, to Arthur Posey and Saphrona Ann (Robertson) Meadows.
Myrel graduated from Coldwater High School in 1947 and Salt City Business College. He was an engineering technician for Farmland Industries. Myrel was a 50-year member of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Myrel was of the Methodist faith.
On August 18, 1950, he married Margaret Ann Edwards in Hutchinson. She died December 11, 2009.
Myrel is survived by: daughters, Linda Meadows of Sylvia and Tonia E. Abdul-Kader and husband Fathi of Wichita; grandchildren, Sammy Abdul-Kader and wife Vickie, Nabil Abdul-Kader and wife Michelle, and Deena Shearer and husband Chad; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Sylvia Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M. and military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501, is in charge of the arrangements.
