Myrtle Jaye, 88, of Wichita, loving wife, mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away after a short illness, Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Wesley Medical Center. The longtime Hutchinson resident, daughter of Hoyt and Laura Duncan, was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Ingalls.
She married Dale Jaye Aug. 10, 1934, and celebrated 69 years together before his death in 2004. Also preceding her in death were sisters, Irene Betts, Alice Powell and a brother, Hoyt "Bud" Duncan.
Survived by a son, Denny, and wife, Roberta, Lindsborg; granddaughter Ashley Hein and husband, Mike, Rose Hill; grandson Brandon Jaye and wife, Joy, Olathe; and grandson Tyler Jaye, Wichita. Her brother James Duncan of Garden City also survives.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
