Myrtle Mary Appel Teel, 89, died July 31, 2013. She was born at Bushton, April 1, 1924, the daughter of Albert A. and Mary Eleanor Baker Appel.

She was a 1942, graduate of Bushton High School and a member of Bushton United Methodist Church. Myrtle was a homemaker.

In January 1965, she married Luther Teel. He died in 1985.

She is survived by a brother, Albert and his wife Connie of Kanopolis; nephews, Mike Appel of Catoosa, OK, Jon Appel,of Manhattan, Adam Appel, Durant, OK, Pat Appel, Rex, GA, Linden Appel, Topeka; nieces, Lynn Zeller, Flower Mound, TX, Etha Johnson, Lonestar, Edna Dunlap, Tonganoxie, Denise Hickman, Garland, TX; 20 great nieces & nephews; numerous great, great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ethelyn Bennett, brothers, Elmer and Arlos Appel and a nephew, Morris "Ben" Bennett.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Bushton United Methodist Church with Pastor Gene Langhofer officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday and Monday with family present 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will also be present 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Bushton Cemetery.
