Nadine I. (Land) Wilch, 94, died March 11, 2013, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born April 10, 1918, on a farm six miles from Richland, Kan., to Edgar and Mary Land.
She graduated from Berryton High School in 1936. She was a lifetime Topeka resident moving to Hutchinson in 2006. Nadine had a deep commitment to God and her spiritual life. To her church, Highland Park United Methodist Church, she devoted many hours serving on many committees, taught Sunday school, worked with Bible School and especially zeroed in with The United Methodist Women on the local, district and conference level. She was a beautiful seamstress from Simplicity to Vogue, from afghans to quilts. She was very caring and giving of herself to others. She was an angel with lots of love and enthusiasm for her family and the world she lived in.
On Aug. 10, 1938, she married Harold L. Wilch in Richland. He died July 26, 2003.
Survivors include: daughter, Joyce Kelly and husband Lee of Hutchinson; son, Roger Wilch and wife Janice of Topeka; grandchildren, Kristen Kelly Fee and husband Allen, Kevin Kelly and wife Molly, Brenda Wilch, Alan Wilch; cherished great-grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Melissa, Colton Fee, Maggie and Laura Kelly, Carter Wilch; sister, Ethelda Wilch of Topeka. Nadine was preceded in death by: her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Wesley Towers Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ron Kite officiating. A second funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, Topeka, with Pastors Lynn Lamberty and Ted Inman. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
