We regretfully announce the passing of Nancy Jo Frances Bechtold, 79, of Hutchinson, KS. She passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2023.  Her family and friends will miss her tremendously.

Nancy was born February 17, 1944.  She grew up in Hiawatha, KS. An independent and vibrant personality from the beginning, Nancy could only be described as a force to be reckoned with.

Following her retirement from AT&T, Nancy lived a full and vibrant life whether working the Dillards make-up counter or as blackjack dealer on a riverboat casino.

Nancy lived her life on her terms with unrelenting style and wit.  She was a devoted Democrat.  She had an eye for antiques. She loved and adored her dogs- Gypsy and Fluffy.

Nancy lived in multiple cities and states eventually settling in Hutchinson to be near her nephew, Josh Hogan and his family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Jean Wilcox Bechtold.  She is survived by her sisters: Sue Miller, Pam Bechtold and Ann Lehmkuhl; nephew Josh (Stephanie) Hogan and family as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

While we would love to hold a service for Nancy, she specifically requested none take place. If you would like to honor her legacy, donations are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
