Nancy Jill Crank, 67, formerly of Hutchinson, died July 22, 2024, in Ooltewah, TN.  She was born August 21, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Emmett and Sarah (Gibson) Hughes.

Jill graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1974, Hutchinson Community College in 1998, and McPherson College in 2001.  She worked for Hutchinson Community College as the Disabilities Coordinator/Advisor.  Jill was always caring and helping others, whether it was family, friends, students, or neighbors.  She was reliable, dependable, and continued to care for others, even as her cancer progressed.   Jill left a lasting impression on everyone she ever met with her loving and unselfish character.

Jill was a lifetime resident of Hutchinson, moving with her husband, Ted, to Tennessee in 2022.

She is survived by:  her husband of 30 years, Ted Crank of Ooltewah, TN; son, Norman Inch (Sadie) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Hannah Inch and Emmett Inch; brother, Jack Hughes of Hutchinson; sister, Barbara Clendening of Buhler; mother-in-law, Marie Crank of Hutchinson; and numerous extended family and friends who all loved Jill dearly.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; brother, Michael Hughes; and father-in-law, Fred Crank.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time the day of the service.
