Nancy Kay
Reinert
May 8, 1951 – June 28, 2022
Nancy Kay Reinert, 71, of Hutchinson, passed away June 28, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, in Wichita, after a brief illness. She was born May 8, 1951, in Axtell, to Barney and Elaine Schneider.
Nancy graduated from Marysville High School and attended Kansas State University, where she met Russell Reinert.
Nancy and Russell were married at Seven Dolors Church, in Manhattan, KS, on July 3, 1971. They would have celebrated 51 years of marriage this weekend. They were blessed with a daughter and a son.
Nancy was a long-term employee of Luminous Neon, in charge of accounting and numerous business functions of the sign company. Retiring in 2013, she enjoyed the monthly breakfast meetings with fellow Luminous Neon alumni.
Retirement allowed Nancy to volunteer at Trinity United Methodist Church preparing meals for the Christian Soup Ministry, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program for low-income taxpayers, and Department of Aging, assisting individuals with selecting cost-effective supplemental health insurance. She was active in her local P.E.O. Chapter, Treasurer of Noon Tycoons Investment Club, and truly enjoyed her Monday Morning Scuttlebutt's Coffee Group.
In addition to her husband, Russell, Nancy is survived by: her daughter Rochelle (Michael) Wertz of Canton, GA; her son, John (Sammie) Reinert of Lenexa; brothers, Jay (Brenda) Schneider of Beattie, Dan (Kristy) Schneider of Longmont CO; sisters, Sandi Smith of Overland Park, Barbie (Ken) Kickhaefer of Marysville; brother-in-law, Vince Gentuso of Hot Springs Village, AR; and a significant number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: both her parents in 2020; toddler brother, Gary in 1958; and sister, Teresa Gentuso of Hot Springs Village, AR, in 2018.
Services for Nancy will be held 11 a.m. Saturday July 2, 2022 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy's family requests contributions to Early Education Center, Inc. Endowed Fund or Reins of Hope, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
