Narciss "Cecil" Marquez, 79, died May 17, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 29, 1936, in Deerfield, to Eleuterio and Maria (Coronado) Marquez.
Cecil served in the United States Air Force, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and had worked for Shears Construction, building highways and retired from the City Of Hutchinson in the water department.
On June 13, 1965, Cecil married Marlene Ann Struckhoff in Kensington, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include: daughters, Gina McConnell and husband Jeff of Hutchinson, Mindy Scheuler and husband Matt of Hutchinson, Jody Burnett and husband Darren of Andover; grandchildren, Clay and Casey McConnell, Kaden, Karsen, and Keaton Scheuler, and Megan Burnett; great-grandson, Cooper McConnell; siblings, Esther Lusk, Herman Marquez, Teresa Winlock, Jessie Velasquez, Julia Allen, Felix Marquez, Helen Kaiser. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Elena Marquez.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
